I’ve been training at this MMA gym for the past 6 months, focusing on both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and it’s been an excellent experience. All of the coaches are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping students improve, regardless of skill level. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to train and learn. One thing I particularly appreciate is that the Jiu-Jitsu program incorporates elements of judo and wrestling, which provides a more complete grappling experience and helps develop well-rounded skills. Overall, it’s a fantastic gym with great coaching, a supportive community, and high-quality training. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in martial arts.

The coaches are amazing and so supportive, and create such a positive environment for all of the kids. The gym itself is super clean and well equipped. I've already noticed a change in my son's confidence since starting at SBG, and I love that this is a place where he has access to such strong, positive, and kind male role models as well. It's been a great new part of our lives and I can't recommend it enough, kids and adults alike!

Been at SBG training for the last little while now nothing but a great set of coaches for both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Great environment and great vibes. I  would highly recommend to anyone looking to get into striking Muay Thai / BJJ / MMA. All coaches including Coach Yun and all the coaches for  Team Scorpion have been nothing but the best when it comes to the fight game and providing a great environment from beginners to professionals. I saw that SBG wasn’t far from so I called  and was able to come to open mat. Everyone made me feel welcomed and got to train and chat with a few people.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I joined the gym to train BJJ, and all the instructors are very good and attentive. The schedule for some classes isn't very convenient, but I'm managing to adapt to the BJJ classes. Unfortunately, I can't attend Muay Thai classes as frequently due to my schedule. Overall, all the classes are good (morning/lunchtime/evening) and there are always a good number of students. I didn't notice anyone trying to hurt me maliciously; quite the opposite, I was very well received by everyone, and they are incredibly patient, explaining the same thing ten times until I can do it. During classes, the instructors (and assistant teachers in Muay Thai classes) circulate to correct mistakes. I didn't feel like anyone was left alone making incorrect movements.

From day one, the environment has been incredibly warm, welcoming, and supportive, especially for complete beginners like us. A huge thank-you to Coach Jun and Elijah for being so accommodating and patient as they introduce newcomers to martial arts. We both came in feeling unsure and a little intimidated, but they made the transition feel easy, natural, and genuinely enjoyable. Every class has been fun, challenging, humbling, and full of new knowledge we never imagined we’d be gaining — and we look forward to every session every single week. As a parent, what really stands out is how well the kids are cared for: the gym strikes an amazing balance between discipline and fun, creating a space where kids can learn, grow in confidence, and feel supported while still being challenged. It’s clear how much thought and care goes into fostering a positive learning environment for young students. Of course, that's been extended into the adult environment too. If you’re new to martial arts (whether for yourself or your child) and looking for a place that combines excellent coaching, a welcoming culture, and a truly supportive community, I can’t recommend Straight Blast Gym highly enough.
