Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the most effective forms of martial arts for self-defense and fitness.  It originated in Japan and was later developed and popularized in Brazil, particularly by the Gracie family. BJJ is known for its emphasis on leverage and technique, allowing a smaller, weaker person to successfully defend themselves against a larger opponent.

Our 12-Week Foundations Program for beginners just like you

We understand that getting started in something new is intimidating, especially Martial Arts. Unlike other gyms that just thrust you into a general class, all new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students at SBG Scarborough start in our 12-week Foundations program. This beginner program is carefully designed to teach the most important Fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a controlled, and non-intimidating setting. We'll even give you a free private lesson with one of our qualified coaches to ensure all your questions and concerns are addressed before you even get started.
